Tris tutorial

Ello everyone! Long time no see. I'm sorry I haven't been posting for a while. School has finally begun, and it sucks that I am overloaded with homework on the first few days. Well, that's all right, because that won't stop me from creating more posts for you guys. Thank you all so much for viewing even though I haven't been online often! Anyways, I hope to continue blogging even though I'm busy, but I apologize that I will be able to post as often as I used to. Okay, okay, enough about me. Are you guys ready for an amazing tutorial? Well, let's begin, shall we?!

Supplies:
paper
#2 pencil (DIXON recommended)
color pencils
eraser

Step 1: Outline the head and neck. Then, draw two horizontal line a bit above the middle.

Step 2: Draw the eyebrows at the top line and eyes on the bottom line. Don't worry, it doesn't have to be perfect.

Step 3: The the nose and lips. I know it looks weird at first, but trust me. Once you draw in the hair, it will look much better.

Step 4: Online the hair and make sure it looks like a ponytail.

Step 5: Use your color pencils to color the rest. First, I began with the hair. To make it look realistic, I used hashing strokes that curved inwards. It's okay if they're not perfect. Just try your best. (To add a bit more realism, add brown and black color pencils)

[Click here if you'd like to know how to use hashing strokes.]

Okay, now we color the face. I used black to shade the face and a peachy color for the skin tone. (Don't press too hard on the black!)

Now I used my eraser to make the skin a bit paler since Tris isn't that dark.

Now, I color and shade in the eyes. Brown eyes and black eyebrows.

See how it was weird before? BOOM! Now that I colored in the lips, it doesn't look as weird anymore, huh?

After you're done with the lips, color in the shirt. Of course, I chose black. (Make sure that on the shirt, the press your color pencil harder in some areas than others.)

Now...we're done? I hope that it looks more like Tris once I've finished coloring. I shaded the neck and face a bit to add a bit more dimension, and also don't forget to add some lines on the neck too make it look more realistic!

Okay guys, that's it for today. I hope this was simple and quick to do. Make sure you take your time on the coloring because that is what brings life to your art. I'm sorry if there are any spelling or grammar mistakes. I am in a rush right now, but hopefully this tutorial had helped any of you out there who wondered how to draw Tris. Thank you all for reading, and if you have any recommendations, comment below. I love you guys so much! Mwah! (I hope to be blogging soon!)

(Of course, I don't want to take credit for everything. I recreated this picture from a picture on Google images. Click here to check it out.)
