Okay, since I saw that the last post was a bit hard to see, I decided to use a black color pencil instead of a #2 pencil. Plus, I used natural lighting, which hopefully made the pictures easier to see.
Okay, enough talking. Let's begin, shall we?
Supplies: #2 pencil (DIXON recommended)
[Note: I recommend a #2 pencil for beginners because a color pencil can't erase as well]
eraser
paper
Step 1: Lightly outline the lips. (It doesn't have to be perfect! Just make sure there are no straight lines.)
Step 2: Darken the middle lip line.
Step 3: Start from the top lip line and use hashing strokes that curve inward to cover the top lip. Make sure you leave spaces between the strokes!
[Note: If you don't know what hashing strokes are, go to yesterday's post.]
Step 4: Now, start from the middle lip line (darkened one) and use the same hashing strokes that curve inward. Of course, leave spaces, and stop halfway at the bottom lip.
**Side note: The bottom lip should be lighter than the top lip, so if you haven't already, use lighter hashing strokes on the bottom lip.
Step 5: Start at the third lip line. Use the same hashing strokes, but this time, instead of going up to down, go from down to up. Continue to curve inward and leave spaces between each stroke. (The space in the middle of the bottom lip is the glare. Since light isn't perfect, make sure the glare isn't in a perfectly straight line.)
Step 6: Okay, let's add the finishing touches. Extend the second lip line (darkened one) by shading a little bit downward. (If you don't know how to shade, check out yesterday's post) Make sure to not go over board and shade the ENTIRE bottom lip. If you can see from the top, I only shaded a bit.
Step 7: Shade the curved part of the third lip line. Like step 6, don't shade too much. (If you'd like to make your lips more realistic, use your fingers to rub your hashing strokes and shaded areas to soften it. Again, don't rub too much or it'll smear)
Thank you for reading! Hopefully, you guys enjoyed the post. Remember, I'd love to read what you've guys blogged or what you've drawn, so share it in the comments! If you'd like to share your attempts, I'll be especially glad to see it. :)
